Pick your date and ceremony time. We'll lay out the whole day, from hair and makeup to the last dance, and time your couple photos for the Okanagan's golden hour.
How the timeline is worked out
Hair and makeup assumes two artists at about 45 minutes a person, finishing 90 minutes before the ceremony so there's time to dress and breathe. Family photos follow the ceremony, then cocktails while the couple slips away. Sunset is calculated for Vernon from the date you pick, and golden hour is the soft light in the last hour or so before it. In the Okanagan that means about 9 p.m. in late June and about 6:35 p.m. in early October, so a fall ceremony often wants an earlier start.
Every venue has its own rules for music, last call and clean-up, so check yours. Many community halls need music off by midnight and the room cleared soon after.
